New: ASL Program Online
Dear Fellow Interpreters: We need your help! Mercy Gonzalez and I, Paul Fugate, have worked for several years to design a web site that can have a tremendous impact for teaching and encouraging American Sign Language. As fellow interpreters, you are fully aware of the need to provide this tool. Specifically, our website contains over 9,000 videos that show specific signs, along with re-enforcement videos designed to promote retention. We designed the entire educational website with the following three groups to be impacted: 1. Deaf students – to promote their English grammar and ASL structure/vocabulary2. Parents of deaf children – to enhance their sign language skills3. Community-at-large – To encourage the learning and usage of ASL You have witnessed first hand deaf students struggling with basic English. And, you have worked with parents of deaf children who possess mediocre sign language skills, at best. Then there’s the Community that always expresses the desire to learn some sign language, especially in the areas of their employment, but either they don’t have the time, or the resources to learn. Over the years of our professional interpreting careers, we became blatantly aware of a need for a website like this that will help promote the learning of American Sign Language. Mercy and I would appreciate it very much if you would take notice of this website, then share the link with those you come into contact with through your profession. When you encounter someone who you feel would benefit from learning sign language skills, please inform them of www.ASLdeafined.com. Our personal experience of sharing this information with others has been very powerful. We are receiving testimonials on a daily basis of how the website has helped their lives. Once you visit www.ASLdeafined.com, you can click on the icon to request a FREE 3-day trail. Once that period expires, you are NOT automatically enrolled. You will be asked if you wish to purchase a subscription for either 1-month, 3-month, or 6-month period. Please check out the site so you can tell others about it. You will be amazed at the number of people who will thank you for your guidance and help.
