Since we are tied with Rochester and there’s notiebreaking rules so all I did was to find the difference in each set ofRSD/WPSD matches.  RSD took the title by having a plus 12!1st – Rochester2nd – Western PA3rd – PennsylvaniaALL-TOURNAMENT TEAMRochester – Summer Loucks and Klimentina KlimentyevaPennsylvania – Ana Valdez and Kim NguyenWestern PA – Boston Campbell and Danielle BrunnerMVP – Marissa Woodruff of RochesterSOCCER (NORTHERN REGIONAL 7 vs 7 SOCCER TOURNAMENT)FRIDAY – We went out and took a 7-1 victory over St. Mary’s.  Doug Persinghad 2 goals (4th minute mark and 14th) while Travis Frye tapped in one atthe 12th minute mark.
I subbed freely after posting a 3-0 lead and wetallied 4 more, one each from Anthony Cochran (19th), Michael Celesnik(25th), Bradley Speck (26th), and Josh Sivak.Rochester earned a forfeit victory over Mill Neck due to an unforeseencircumstance (The most important thing is that they arrived here safe atnight).
SATURDAY -Rochester went out and scored 8 goals to St. Mary’s 1.  The Wildcats banged2 in at the first minute mark (Ken Gentzke at 0:42 and Tim Artinian at0:53).  Ken did it again at the 4th minute mark.  St. Mary’s Joseph Crapsibroke the goal drought by knocking one in at the 4:14 mark.  Tim followedKen by getting his 2nd one at the 5th minute mark.  Rounding up the scoringattack were: Mack Thomas (17th); Jaron Rehkop; 2 (20th and 31st) and BlaineKaplan (27th).
We then went out and had Doug Persing bang in 2 goals (at the 2nd and 7thminute mark) and Kevin Araoujo tapped one in at the 10th minute mark.Blaise Jugan took a nice pass from Doug Persing and knocked that one home atthe 15th minute mark.  Shay Reeves headed a Doug Persing’s sideline throw togive us a 5-0 lead at the 24th minute mark.  Jhovaughan Palmer finally brokethe shut out by tapping a ball in at the 34th minute mark.Mill Neck Manor played St. Mary’s next and the Chiefs took this game, 3-2(Jhovaughan Palmer got 2 goals,at the 2nd and 19th minute mark) and the 3rdone was clocked in at the 28th minute mark.  St. Mary’s refused to wilt andthey tallied 2 goals (30th and 35th minute mark) to narrow the score, 3-2.The defending champions Rochester and the Western Pennsylvania came outfighting on all cylinders as the game battled throughout.  It remainedscoreless all the way until the 16th minute mark when Shay Reeves knocked ina goal, giving us a short-lived 1-0 lead.  Rochester tallied one (KenGentzke) in at the 18th minute mark, tying this game up.  We refused to letthat deter us as we got that one back in a jiffy on a nifty corner kick by
Blaise Jugan to Travis Frye who kicked it in 40 seconds later to give us aslim 2-1 lead.
Blaise Jugan did it once again, teaming up with Travis Frye at the 34thminute mark, giving us a 3-1 lead.  Rochester refused to give up as theycontinue to battle us and it was a good fought game.  At the 36th minutemark, Ken Gentzke went in for a throw in and our player headed that one inour goal, narrowing the score to 3-2.  Fortunately the score remained thesame all the way to the last second, giving us the Northern Regional title!
